There was a community animal health veterinary education day on March 18, 2017 from 3pm-7pm.  Dr. Eman offered 10 minute consultations with no cost in order to bring more awareness about animal health.

Dr. Eman Jassim's life passion is educating people about healthcare for animals.  She began her work at the age of 15 working in a public educational farm.  She got her start in animal education showing children how to do things such as milk goats, care for chicken and ducks, feed cows and ride horses.  In her undergraduate college years, she was an Animal Science major and extensively studied animal husbandry for pets and food animals at the University of Illinois College of Agriculture.  She started working with a very well-known avian veterinarian and her focus shifted to animal veterinary care.  She enrolled in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois.  There she was active with the equine colic surgery team and was recognized with a prestigious surgery award.   She received a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Medicine and in 1999 graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

After graduation, she worked at a busy six doctor veterinary clinic and then began doing extra surgical and emergency training.  Her interests in surgery led her to a surgical internship at a large referral veterinary center that had specialists in several fields and had the benefit of technology such as CT imagery.  Dr. Eman started her own veterinary consultation business that specialized in providing temporary veterinary services for veterinarians.  Her first job as a consultant was filling in for a veterinarian who just had brain surgery and needed a veterinarian to care for his patients while he recovered.  Through her veterinary consulting work, Dr. Eman worked with a huge variety of veterinary clinics in Illinois, California, and Texas.  She formed an opinion of what she felt provided the best levels of animal care.  Dr. Eman married her husband who was born and raised in Bahrain and that brought her to shift her veterinary consulting to Bahrain.  In her free time, she enjoys going to schools and talking with the children about animal care and veterinary medicine.  It is with great excitement that Dr. Eman wants to settle in one veterinary clinic that she owns and directs.  She wants to blend all the excellent characteristics of the veterinary clinics she has worked in and make them part of Eman Veterinary Clinic.

In honor of Dr. Eman's animal care education beginning, Dr. Eman  hosted a free community animal health veterinary education day.  This day was set aside for anyone in the community to schedule a 10 minute appointment with Dr. Eman to bring their pet in and ask whatever pet healthcare questions they may have.  Due to time constraints, no treatments were included. The appointments were  meant to be educational.  Just like people are in better health when they take good care of themselves, our pets are in better health when we take good care of them.  Parents were encouraged to bring their children along with the family pet so everyone in the family could learn more about taking care of their pet.  Examples of questions  included were about your pet's nutrition, inquiring about a lump found in the skin, or asking the doctor to look in the ears and check if they are normal.  Dr. Eman is well experienced in working with dogs and cats and is also very experienced in pet birds, rabbits, and guinea pigs.  The event was held on Saturday, March 18 from 3pm-7pm. The community educational pet consultations took place in Eman Veterinary Clinic, located in East Riffa beside the Oasis Mall and behind the Petrol Station in #156 Abdulla Center.
