Rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and turtles do not require vaccinations, but any new pet should be given a full physical exam by our veterinarian. Stool samples should be brought in a bag so we can have them evaluated for intestinal parasites. Dr. Eman can discuss with you the best way to care for these pets and can evaluate and treat them if they are not feeling well. Like birds, small mammals show little signs of illness until they are severely sick. Pay attention to any sign such as a change in appetite or stools and have them seen immediately by any available qualified veterinarian.
